With close to 15 years in the fitness industry, Michael has helped countless clients live healthier lifestyles. Michael brings an ethos of wellness and fitness to the table. This enables his clients to train in a positive environment, resulting in life-changing outcomes. He holds certifications from NASM, with specializations in corrective exercise and TRX training.
As a former multi-sport athlete, Michael chose fitness and well-being as a natural progression of his strong athletic education and foundation. While he does enjoy working with athletes, the majority of his clientele are people who are looking to improve their overall health and fitness level. After spending time working at 24 Hour Fitness and Pacific Athletic Club, Michael realized that he preferred the flexibility and focus that personal training offered him and his clients. Working as an independent trainer at Maximum Fitness and Performance enables Michael to strengthen his relationships with his clients, while collaborating with the other trainers at the facility.
Michael offers one-on-one training, partner training and group class sessions. He sees clients at the gym, but also has flexibility to help with in-home training sessions. He offers a free one-hour consultation to learn about the client’s goals, to explain his training philosophy, and to ensure a good fit for the client. Rates will be discussed at the time of consultation.
As a response to the COVID situation and shelter in place orders, Michael quickly incorporated virtual training as a way to continue his work with current and new clients. Virtual training is another option for clients who do not yet feel comfortable coming to the training facility.

I began working with Michael a handful of years ago after recovering from a bad cycling injury (severely broken pelvis). I had lost my physical confidence and some of my balance. Michael helped me with both of these issues, tailoring exercises to meet, and gradually improve, my abilities and needs. I’ve long since recovered, but I continue to see Michael regularly for many reasons. First, thanks to his inspiration and guidance, I feel physically strong and comfortable in my body, as I did in my youth as a competitive athlete. Second, Michael “mixes it up” in a way that keeps me interested in working out. Third, when I suffer temporary setbacks of one form or another (i.e., minor injuries or strains), Michael always listens, remembers, and designs my workouts so that I can recover as quickly as possible. And finally, Michael is a kind and amazing guy. He has a wonderful sense of humor and plenty of wisdom to keep me balanced in all ways.
I had been a “somewhat” regular gym-goer on my own. I found myself doing the same routines two-three times per week. I did the basic Chest-Biceps, Back-Triceps & Shoulder-Legs.
I noticed others doing so many different exercises that didn’t seem to include all the old stuff I was doing. I wanted to learn and get out of my old routines. I was introduced to Michael by my girlfriend who had been training with him for about a year.
Other than working my legs I wasn’t exactly sure what my goals were when we first started. I immediately liked Michael’s easy going approach. It never felt like I was with a Drill Sargent pushing their own fitness agenda. Every time we met he was having me do something new. It kind of frustrated me at first because I wanted to perfect the previous routine. Little did I know, Michael was keeping it fresh while developing my strength and conditioning that entire time. So when we began to repeat exercises, I was doing them with the form required to get maximum results.
Fast forward four years of a consistent training schedule with Michael. I’m now 46 and in the best shape and condition of my entire life. I never had abs in my 20’s but I have them now. He’s always giving me new movements and I think “that’s for someone half my age”. But guess what, he’s got me surprising myself! I never thought I could be where I’m at and it really is thanks to Michael.
I can’t recommend Michael enough. His calm and subtle approach to training will help you achieve your goals and then some.
I was fortunate enough to have training sessions with Michael, a true professional and fitness guru. I have sciatica and severe neck pain, and because he is so knowledgeable and passionate about fitness, he was able to customize all of my sessions for me so that I would be able to handle the workouts without straining myself due to my conditions.
Michael always set me at ease and made me feel comfortable with pushing myself to my abilities. He taught me how important my lifestyle choices outside of the gym were and really became my accountability partner whom I could trust to steer me down the correct path. And I have Michael to thank for helping me lose weight before my wedding so I could feel beautiful and confident on my big day.
